2007 Kliegl Family Craziness News
When: June 15-17, 2007 (or come early and stay late)
Where: Emmetsburg, IA
Hotels:
 | The Suburban (outdoor pool)
 | 712-852-2626 |
 | Approximately $70 per night with tax |
 | You may call to see if rooms are available. They have a wedding
holding much of the hotel but they believe they are likely to be
releasing rooms as time goes by.
|
|
 | Super 8 (new in 2006 – no pool)
 | 712-852-2667 |
 | Approximately $60.00 per night with tax |
 | Will not hold a block of rooms but has availability at this
time. You must call directly.
|
|
 | The Wild Rose Casino and Resort (new in 2006 – indoor pool)
 | 712-852-3400 |
 | Have fun at the casino and remember 6% of the gaming revenue
goes to the local nonprofit for really good causes. Julie can tell
you way too much about this as she is a board member and license
holder for the casino. |
 | $89.00 per night on Friday and Saturday and $59.00 for Sunday or
weeknights. A block of rooms being held for Kliegl reunion but you
must call and make a specific reservation under the block. The hotel
also regularly has Stay and Play packages that include some meals
and credits at the casino. They do not know what the June packages
are yet, but they may offer better rates for those who want to
gamble. They suggest that you inquire when you reserve your room.
You must reserve your room by mid May or the block may be released.
If the stay and play packages are more attractive when you check in,
they will change your reservation to that rate upon request. Their
website is
wildroseresorts.com. Current promotions are on the web. |
|
 | We also have the Queen Marie Bed and Breakfast (852-4700) in town if
anyone is interested in that. The campgrounds are Kearny State Park near
First Island and the Golf Course and the Wild Rose Campground at the
casino. You can visit emmetsburg.com
for more information on these |
Tentative Plans (subject to change, as it’s in our genes):
 | Friday:
 | Arrive, hang out, golf, boat, swim, play cards, talk, etc.
Burgers, brats, and dogs at Julie’s (703 Harrison St.; 712-852-3017)
starting mid afternoon until the last card player has to go to
sleep. We’ll get three grills ready and have burgers, brats, and
dogs along with some salads and fixin's. Julie, Kathy, Karen and
whoever else wants to help will make some salads and stuff. Karen
and Dan are providing brats and dogs. Julie is providing burgers.
All the other stuff we will make up as the day goes on. |
|
 | Saturday:
 | Breakfast on your own. The hotels offer a continental or a
buffet depending on where you stay. |
